Court System
The Jackson County court system is part of the 1st Judicial Circuit (Fifth Appellate District) which covers Alexander, Jackson, Johnson, Massac, Pope, Pulaski, Saline, Union, and Williamson counties.
The court's judges hear both criminal and civil cases, including small claims; coordinate the empaneling of jury trials, prosecute the accused, defend the indigent, and manage probation and restitution programs. You can also be married by a judge in the courthouse any day court is in session.
